How it works

Select a single Task or a bundle of Tasks. We have 50 Tasks to choose from, and the more familiarity and practise your child gets across the different categories, the greater chances of success. Remember – if you buy more than 5 Tasks, you’ll unlock a 10% discount for all Tasks thereafter, or save further by choosing one of our bundles.

Once you’ve made your purchase, your chosen Task or Tasks will be securely sent to the email address that you’ve registered with.

Your child can complete the writing Task at a time and place that suits you.
This first attempt doesn’t have to be timed — we recommend spending no more than 45 to 60 minutes, if possible. The quality of the substance is what’s most important at this stage.

Ensuring your child’s first response to the Task is written legibly and clearly on lined paper, you can now send us clear photos of each page, or a scanned PDF (and please include the cover showing the Task ID and iteration number, OR ensure these are written clearly somewhere on the first page). Use the webform on the ‘Upload’ link emailed to you to send these to us. Once you’ve registered with us, the webform will recognise your email address as your ‘User Name.’

We’ll email you your detailed assessment report within 3 working days of you sending us your child’s first response to the Task. We encourage you or a trusted adult to go through the assessment report with your child and to help them understand the feedback and recommendations.

Now is your child’s opportunity to have another go at responding to the Task, implementing the lessons learned from the feedback in the first assessment report. And in this iteration, the aim is to complete the Task in 30 minutes. Most Grammar and Independent schools set a 30-minute Creative Writing exam. A few extend this to 45 minutes, but practising within a 30-minute limit remains one of the most effective ways to build speed, confidence and exam-readiness.

Again, use the webform on the ’Upload’ link emailed to you to send us the scan or photos of your child’s completed Task.

You’ll get another detailed assessment report within 3 working days of you sending us your child’s final response to the Task. So it's possible to get 2 rounds of assessment and feedback for a Task within a week, if you choose to. And that's not to say you can't complete multiple Tasks within a week, so that you're completing a Task while your previous one is being assessed. To encourage fluidity and momentum with the Task completion-and-assessment cycle, both rounds of any Task must be completed within 30 days of each other.
